Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, wishing for renewed energy and enthusiasm in the lives of all citizens.
Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi wrote: “Heartfelt greetings to all countrymen on the occasion of Ram Navami. May this holy and sacred occasion of Lord Shri Ram’s birth festival bring new consciousness and fresh enthusiasm into all your lives and continuously provide new energy to the resolve of a strong, prosperous, and capable India. Jai Shri Ram!”
As part of his Ram Navami celebrations, PM Modi is scheduled to visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, where he will inaugurate the newly constructed Pamban Bridge. This modern structure, built by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) at a cost of ₹535 crore, stretches over 2.5 kilometers and replaces the iconic 1914-built bridge, which was closed in 2022 due to corrosion-related issues.
Meanwhile, across India, devotees celebrated Ram Navami with deep devotion and festivity, particularly in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. The Ram Janmabhoomi Temple was magnificently decorated with vibrant flowers and illuminated lights, drawing thousands of pilgrims. Before entering the temple, many devotees performed a sacred dip in the Saryu River, as per tradition.
One devotee shared, “I am feeling very good after coming here. The arrangements are excellent.” Another, who traveled from Varanasi, said, “I came to offer prayers at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on this special day.”
The Hanumangarhi Temple in Ayodhya also witnessed a surge in devotees. Temple priest Mahant Raju Das said, “Aarti was held at 3 a.m. and large numbers of devotees have gathered to offer prayers. I extend my greetings to all on the birthday of Lord Ram and pray for the welfare of the world.”
Ram Navami, observed on the final day of Chaitra Navratri, celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. As part of the celebrations, young girls symbolizing the nine forms of Goddess Durga are traditionally offered gifts and prasad across the country.
From religious ceremonies to infrastructural milestones, the day marked a blend of spiritual devotion and national development, resonating with the Prime Minister’s message of strength and prosperity.
